Maura Rodgers
Founder
Originally from Beantown, Maura moved to Vancouver by way of Silicon Valley, after her first Internet start-up was acquired in 2000. Prior to co-founding Strutta, Maura was VP of Marketing and co-Founder at Spinway, where she was largely responsible for making Spinway become the fastest growing ISP in history with over 8 million users in 11 months. She was in charge of the overall communications and marketing strategy at Spinway and worked closely with all partners including Yahoo!, Costco, Barnes & Noble, Capital One and Kmart to streamline communications and ensure the success of their ISP product launches. After graduating from UMASS, Maura founded her first company Lloyd Edwards, Inc. – a boutique marketing consulting company specializing in marketing communications, training and product launches. Her clients included Forbes Fortune 500’s Boston Scientific, Inc.
Presently, Maura is the Founder and Executive Director of the Bootup Entrepreneurial Society (BES), a non-profit that is dedicated to helping build an infrastructure that is well honed to support early stage entrepreneurs and accelerate the growth of digital media companies in BC and across Canada. In addition, Maura co-organizes the popular networking series, Launch Party Vancouver, which is now managed by BES, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Enterprise Forum.
Maura holds a BA in English from UMass Boston, WSET Level II certification in Wine & Spirits and a culinary degree from the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts.
