Steven Wittens

As Strutta's Director of Systems Architecture, Steven is responsible for performance and scalability of Strutta's core product and leads the development of new platform technology. Hailing from Belgium, Steven joined Strutta in 2008 and has played a key role in the development of Strutta's contest builder and API.

From before he could reach a keyboard, Steven has been fascinated by computers. Soon he was writing code and loving it, got online, and started publishing interesting 'hacks' and projects. 20 years later, his work has included usability, software security, web search, computer graphics, gaming, mathematics and even music visualization. Steven was a core developer for the open source Drupal project for seven years and has spoken at numerous conferences around the world.

Aside from expertise in systems and networking, Steven is also a seasoned graphical designer and UI developer. He was featured in Smashing Magazine with his unique design for Acko.net and was one of the creators of the now-ubiquitous Garland blog theme for Drupal and WordPress.

When he isn't writing code, Steven enjoys sharing a craft beer with friends or riding his bike in the majestic surroundings of British Columbia.
